Barbara Thurman, A.P.,
C.C.T., and she the co-owner and founder of The Acupuncture &
Natural Healing Center in Stuart, Florida. As the first Nationally
Certified Acupuncture Physicians in the Stuart - Port St. Lucie
area, she and her partner, Ronald Mullen, A.P., opened their private
practice here in 1996.
Barbara has taught graduate courses to Acupuncture
Physicians for many years, and has served as guest lecturer at
Indian River Community College, Keiser Career Institute, the Blake
Library, the Women’s Health Center/Martin Memorial Hospital,
and many public forums. She is a Certified Clinical Thermographer
and has opened the area’s first, and only, Digital Infrared
Thermal Imaging Lab for the early screening of breast disease.
She was recently honored by the American College of Clinical Thermography
for her outstanding dedication to the advancement of women’s
health.
Barbara’s undergraduate degrees
were earned at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio, and she
received her graduate degree as an Acupuncture Physician from
Florida’s oldest school of Oriental Medicine, the Southeastern
Institute of Oriental Medicine in Miami, Florida.
Ronald
M. Mullen, A.P. Nationally Certified Acupuncture Physician
Ronald M. Mullen, A.P. is a Nationally Certified
(NCCAOM) and Florida Licensed Acupuncture Physician. As a practitioner
of Traditional Chinese Medicine, he utilizes Acupuncture, Chinese
herbs, manual therapies, and homeopathy in his clinical practice.
For more than two years he served as the resident
Acupuncture Physician at the world famous Upledger Institute in
Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He is also co-owner and President of
the Acupuncture and Natural Healing Center established in 1996,
and serving both Martin and St. Lucie areas.
Ron has been featured on TV and radio and has
had many news articles published on his patients and treatments
over the years.
He specializes in the treatment of pain, especially
knee, back, shoulder and neck pain, as well as sports injuries.
He has developed his pain relief techniques based on ancient methods
paired with current anatomical knowledge. He is trained in Traditional
Chinese Medicine, Balance Method, Korean Hand Therapy, Scalp and
Auricular Therapy, and the Five Element Style. He has also studied
many types of manual therapy and specialty Chinese herbal formulas.
Ron received his degree as an Acupuncture
Physician from Southeastern Institute of Oriental Medicine in Miami,
Florida.
